Forced to Flee Simulation
Portage la Prairie Local Immigration Partnership is pleased to be holding the FREE Forced to Flee Simulation on April 25th. It will be an excellent opportunity for businesses, employers, HR staff, front line employees and the general community to get an understanding of the plight and struggles that millions of people go through in our world due to war, famine, and political strife. It is not their choice to leave their countries, cities and personal homes-they do so to survive.
Facilitators of the program will help participants to understand the depths of suffering and experiences that refugees live each day in the world. The Forced to Flee Simulation requires participants to role-play. In doing so, a temporary reality is created by stepping into the shoes of another. In this group experience you’ll work together with a “family” as conflict strikes your peaceful community. How will you maintain your supply of food, money, and health and secure your family’s future? This activity includes discussion questions, real-life stories, vocabulary, and facts on conflict and migration.
The Learning Objective is to transform thinking and inspire action around conflict, migration, and refugees. We hope you will want to attend this special simulation and send many staff members to it. It is an opportunity you do not want to miss.
