Youth Resource Guide

CBYF_Logo_2.png

Welcome to the Communities Building Youth Futures (CBYF) and Portage Learning and Literacy Centre (PLLC) Youth Resource Guide!

We have created this guide to provide youth aged 15 - 30 in and around Portage la Prairie with local, provincial and virtual resources that may be useful. There are 16 categories throughout this resource guide: Crisis Support Lines, Addictions, Basic Needs, Connections, Dental, Education - Institutions, Education - Funding, Employment, Family, Health Care, Mental Health, Online & Virtual, Orthodontic Services, Recreation, Transportation. Throughout the guide there are some duplicate resources because many resources fit into more than one category. If a resource has a orange bar next to it           that means it can also be found in multiple categories. If a resource has a purple bar next to it           that means it is based out of Winnipeg but provides Manitoba wide support.

See something not quite right?

While our team has worked hard to make sure this guide is up-to-date and accurate, some organizations may have moved or changed their services since we last updated and printed this booklet. Please contact us at CBYF@portagecrc.com or info@pllc.ca if you find any information that needs to be updated.

Looking for a resource but can't find it?

Try 211 Manitoba! 211 Manitoba is a free, confidential, 24/7 service that connects individuals to government, health, and social services that are available across the province. The service helps Manitobans who are looking to find the right community or social resource but don’t know where to start. Visit their website or call 2-1-1

About the Portage Learning & Literacy Centre:

The Portage Learning and Literacy Centre has been offering various programs to assist individuals in achieving their goals over the past 30 years. We are a one-stop, multi-service location, providing programs in three core areas: education (high school diploma; upgrading; literacy; daycare services), employment (services to find and retain employment; skills training and work experience for youth) and immigrant settlement services (language training, needs assessments, referrals, information and orientation, community connections, Summer Youth Engagement Program, and Settlement Workers in Schools), which includes many youth-focused services and supports within all these areas.
